On the 9th & 10th of April 2019, Gas Academy (Singapore) presented its
first edition of “LPG WEST AFRICA FORUM & EXHIBITION”, that took place at Eko Convention Centre, Lagos, Nigeria. The title for this year’s forum was
“Building LPG Businesses in West Africa”. This event was well attended by local participants who networked with international companies who came down for the event.
This event was supported by the World LPG Association. The Managing
Director, Mr James Rockall, graced the event with his presence. This event
was kick started by a keynote presentation by Mr Adedayo Adeshina,
Programme Manager, National LPG Expansion Plan. In addition, the event
had strong backing from local associations such as the Nigerian LPG
Association, Nigerian Gas Association, Ghana LPG Operator’s Association
and the Africa LPG Association.

The event brought together some Chief Executive Officers of top companies (both national and international) and key Industry Players in the Nigerian Liquefied Petroleum Gas sector to review “The state of LPG Market in West Africa and the Way Forward”. It also provided a valuable networking opportunity and set the stage for further cooperation and partnership among various Gas Industries in both Africa and beyond, as a number of companies exhibited their products in the cause of the conference.

Mr Renzo Bee The Global LPG Partnership, spoke on the topic “Enhancing LPG Affordability and Availability” and noted that when LPG is available to the masses, life becomes easier.

Engr. Betty .A. Ugona (Mrs), Executive Director Storage Nigeria Pipeline and Storage Company (NPSC) Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Coordinator Gas to Health Initiative (GTHI) who spoke on “Non-Profit Organization efforts to Promote LPG in West Africa” detailed the story of Gas to Health Initiative as a non-profit organization intentionally advocating for the use of LPG through awareness creations, distribution of complete gas cylinder appliance and safety tips.

The 2-day Forum & Exhibition was a platform for networking with and learning from these influential LPG experts.
