Gas to Health Initiative in partnership with Discovery Links Support Initiative held the 6th Edition of Mama put empowerment program which took place on the 14th of December 2018 with the theme “Empowering Local Food Vendors/Mama put to the use of LPG as the most Efficient Source of Energy” at Sokoto Energy Research Centre in Usman Danfodiyo University.
The event was graced by the distinguished guests namely: Mr. Bello Sambo from Helping Hands and Grass root Support Foundation (representing the Executive Director Discovery Link Support Initiative), Mr. Nura Bello Suleman from Productive Community for Sustainable Development Initiative, Mr. Umar Muh’d Ubandawaki (representing Isah Local Government), Mr. Abbas Alkali; Minister of Solid Mineral Service, Mr. Kasimu Muh’d Yabo; Managing Director State Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), Mr. Abdullahi Ladan from HSMB, Hon Nasiru; Councilor of Tudun Wada, Faruku Muhammed; Taffidan Dallatu, Ahmad Magaji; Ubandoma Tudun/Wada (Head District of Tudun/Wada), Dr M.M Garba; Director Sokoto Energy Research Centre, Mr. Saidu M. Maishanu from Sokoto Energy Research Centre (Head of Bio Mass unit), Garba Saidu from Sokoto Energy Research Centre, Isah Ladan from Sokoto Energy Research Centre, L.U Kangiwa from Sokoto Energy Research Centre.
Furthermore, training on the safe handling of LPG cooking accessories were handled by the training and logistics officer, Anthony Ajuzie (Ms) and assisted by Mrs. Annatu. Some of the beneficiaries were given opportunity to express their feelings as regards to the empowerment program.
In the course of the program, Hundred (100) Mama put/local food vendors were empowered with free LPG complete accessories both single burners and 6kg/12.5kg cylinders.
